Specification Review

food processing machine price

A food processing machine price is comparable only after the buyer names the cutting duty, the tooling set, and which cost buckets sit inside the paper. This dossier does not publish a catalog price, a discount off an unnamed market, or an engineering guarantee. It lists the decision dependencies that must be closed before factories are ranked on landed cost.

Decision topic: Decision dependencies

Decision dependencies

  1. Input dependency

    Required input
Incoming size, texture and temperature; target cut size; fines or off-size limit; quantity; Incoterms destination; optional budget with currency and per-unit or whole-order basis. List which knives and guards are expected for slices versus dice so extra sets are not hidden inside a round number.
    Owner
Procurement owns budget preference and destination. Process engineering owns the cutting test definition. Neither role should be replaced by a brochure HP figure. This intermediary records the split; it does not sign the purchase order.
  2. Review dependency

    • Price review depends on identical scope lines: base machine, extra cutting sets, shipping, site work, FAT/SAT attendance and spare knives.
    • Unresolved until answered: for pet food, who supplies cooking and forming beyond ingredient cutting, and whether those modules are priced here or elsewhere.
Selection dimensions, not named competitors
Dimension What to compare What remains open
Single machine or process Cutting cell only versus modules that cook, form or dry Vendor count and SAT boundary
Output basis Empty-machine speed versus trial on buyer product Fines and off-size under named feed
Cost basis Ex-works machine line versus installed project Duties, utilities, training, spare parts
Tooling Included knife set versus extra slice or dice sets Guard and impeller changes between formats

Reference attributes used as RFQ units, not as this site’s performance claims, include incoming product size in mm or in, cut size in mm, motor power in HP or kW, and, for later pet-food modules, throughput in kg/h, conditioning temperature in °C and final moisture percent. Connected load, supply frequency, working pressure of any pneumatic infeed, footprint and PLC interface stay on the same sheet. One hygiene or electrical certificate attached to a cutter does not cover an entire line. The Urschel and Bühler public pages used for those unit questions were opened on 17 September 2026; they remain references, not a live US ranking claim.

Limitation one: a cutting test is invalid if incoming size, texture or temperature differ from the contract sample. Limitation two: a dicer quote does not establish extrusion cooking or dryer moisture. Limitation three: site utilities and sanitation drains can reject a frame even when the knives match the cut drawing. Limitation four: changeover time is a labor and tooling cost that never appears in a nameplate kW value.
